Kyna Patterson

Kyna Patterson has been practicing as a Certified Child Life Specialist at Children’s Hospital since 2013 after obtaining her Honours Bachelor of Health Science at the University of Western Ontario and her post-graduate diploma in Child Life Studies. She completed her Masters of Science in Child Life and Paediatric Psychsocial Care at McMaster University in 2018. She currently holds the role of Operations Manager of Children’s Hospital and is an Implementation Co-Lead for the Children’s Comfort Promise at Children’s Hospital. As a member of the Child Life Services Department, Kyna has provided care to patients and families in various clinical areas of Children’s Hospital with focused attention to psychosocial intervention for procedural pain Kyna is keenly interested in knowledge mobilization related to pediatric procedural pain management and the integration of evidence-based practices in clinical care to improve outcomes. At a national level, she is an executive member of the Canadian Association of Child Life Leaders.
