Paul Tremblay

Statistician

Dr. Paul Tremblay completed his Ph.D. in Psychology (Measurement) at the University of Western Ontario in 1998. Dr. Tremblay is currently chair of the Social, Personality and Developmental Psychology Research Cluster and supervises doctoral, Master’s, and undergraduate students. He collaborates on research with colleagues at Child and Adolescent Mental Health and the University of Guelph on nationally funded research. He also collaborates in research with colleagues at Western in the departments/schools of Psychology, Physical Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders, as well as in the First Episode Mood and Anxiety Program (FEMAP) and MacDonald Franklin OSI (Operational Stress Injury) Research Centre. He received a Dean’s Excellence Award in 2017 and 2018 for his contributions in the Department of Psychology. His research interests include the quantitative methods associated with his courses with a particular interest in promoting appropriate ways of applying procedures for statistical control, handling missing data and estimation of sample size for precision and statistical power. Much of his published research (that includes 60 peer-reviewed publications and 12 book chapters) involve either development or validation of individual difference measures in various domains including personality, academic motivation, aggression, and depressive symptoms.
