Dr. Jennifer Crotogino

Paediatric Mental Health Specialist

Dr. Jennifer Crotogino completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at McGill University in 2002 and doctoral residency at the IWK Health Centre for Women and Children, in paediatric neuropsychology, paediatric behvioural medicine and pain, and child and adolescent mental health. She is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at Western University, and of the Departments of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, and Paediatrics at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University.  She is involved in providing training and education to a range of learners and is a dedicated clinical supervisor to Clinical Psychology doctoral residents specializing in Health and Clinical Psychology. Her research interests are focused primarily on understanding, preventing and treating pain in children and youth. She has collaborated with the Pain Network of Ontario and centres across Canada to develop a large-scale Pain Registry, of which Children’s Hospital is a part of. She is the Clinical Site Lead for The Comfort Ability program, which involves training, implementation and evaluation of an evidence based, group intervention for teens with chronic pain and their parents.  This collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital for Sick Children and sites across Canada, the US and Australia is continuing to develop and evaluate clinical interventions, as well as knowledge translation. Dr. Crotogino is also an active member of Children Hospital’s Comfort Promise Steering Committee.
